CHD Board
The Board of CHD is composed of four distinguished and experienced Global Health, Health Aid, Child Development, and Health Systems Transformations professionals with extensive hands-on experience in managing systems transformations, large scale health aid programs, child development, and non-for-profit support programs globally.

As a non-for-profit organization, the CHD Board leads the overall mission and direction of CHD, approves its budget and program and appoints and evaluates its Executive Director. 

​Dr. Cristian C. Baeza MPH is currently the Chair of the Board and CHD full time Executive Director appointed by the Board for the period 2016 to 2019.

Cristian C. Baeza MD MPH. Chair and Executive Director of the Center for Healthy Development (CHD). Dr. Baeza serves also as the Principal Advisor to the Inter-American Conference for Social Security (CISS) and is a Professor (LoA) of Global Health at the University of Washington, Seattle USA.  Former Director of the Health, Nutrition and Populations Practice of the World Bank  globally in Washington DC; former CEO of the National Health Insurance Fund (FONASA) in Santiago Chile; former Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean of the STEP program of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Washington DC USA and Geneva Switzerland; and former Partner of McKinsey leading the Health Systems practice in emerging markets from Rome, Italy and from Washington DC, USA.

Renowned specialist in early child development, autism and children with developmental disabilities. Clinical assistant professor of global child mental health at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. Senior Fellow of the RISE Institute. Former CEO of the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning (ICDL) in Washington DC, USA.

Currently Vice-President of SODEXO Healthcare, Former Executive Director for International Collaboration at NewYork-Presbyterian, responsible for NYP’s collaborations related to education, research and clinical operations worldwide.  Former Associate Partner and Senior Expert with McKinsey & Co., with focus on health systems strategy, and health reforms, healthcare financing, in Europe, Middle East and North Africa, and Latin America.

Mckinsey and Company. Formerly Senior Vice President of Product, Network &
Reimbursement for Highmark Health, a diversified health care company serving 50 million
Americans in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Former Partner at McKinsey &
Company, where he worked with leading public and private healthcare companies in Europe,
Latin America, and the United States on health systems transformations and health care value
creation, leading the Latin America region in the Emerging Markets practice.

John Langenbrunner PhD. USA national. Renowned health economist, currently Senior Program Officer at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Former Lead Health Economist for the World Bank where he led the Health Financing and Health Insurance Thematic Group within the Bank, and led the Bank’s Global Expert Team for Health Financing and Health Systems; former advisor at the US Office of Management and Budget where he served on the Clinton Health Care Reform Task Force for the US White House, and former senior economist at the US Health Care Financing Administration, a public health insurance program for over 90 million beneficiaries.. ​
